The Knights of Lithuania C-144 celebrated Lithuanian Independence Day and hosted and Amber District meeting on March 11, 2012 at the Annunciation Church BVM Frackville, PA. Sixty members from the Amber District attended.
Members from Council 144 received their "Third Degree" certificates and medals. Members included: Elaine Luschas, Carol Luschas, Elizabeth Frye, James Hess, Peg Hess, Antoinette Pancerella, Anthony Richtus, Dot Setcavage, James Setcavage, Meredith Domalakes and Margaret Valinsky. Congratulations! Annie Domalakes presented a lecture about the Grand Duke Vytautas. She studied his historical and social importance throughout the ages. There were various exhibits and displays including handmade marguciai eggs by Christine Luschas, March 11 1990 Independence, calendar of events, and an exhibit about Lithuanians in sports. Tables were decorated green and red table clothes accented with gold chargers. Every table had a tricolored Lithuanian flag table runner, and lovely floral centerpieces. For starters various fruits and vegetable trays were served. The main meal included Chicken Francese, Beef Burgundy, mashed potatoes, and salad. Dessert included a fabulous iced vanilla cake with the VYTIS emblem and homemade Lithuanian Nut Roll. |
